The source code for Switch Rooms is public in the sandbox-quantum/switch repository on GitHub, and contributions arrive as pull requests. The repository’s contributing guide is the reference for everything a contribution needs: how to set up a development server, how the repository is laid out, the checks to run, and what a pull request must include.

Before your first pull request

  • Read the contributing guide. It’s kept up to date with the code, so start there rather than from this page.
  • Sign the contributor license agreement. You sign it once, on your first pull request. See the agreement, and the contributing guide for how to sign it, including the route for companies.
  • Report a security vulnerability privately. Follow the repository’s security policy, and don’t open an issue.

Add an agent provider or a messaging app

Each has its own guide in the repository, with the steps in order and what your pull request must show. The contributing guide links to both.

Test your build with Switch Console

To try a server you built from source, connect Switch Console to it as an existing server. See Add a server.

License

See the repository’s LICENSE for the terms Switch is released under.
